Meet Our New Backyard!!

So...uh...hi. I know it's been awhile. I'm still here. I'm still alive. Life has been a little busy around Pig and Paint now that we have our little piglet. Oh, by the way, he's TEN MONTHS OLD. Holy cow! How did that happen? Who let this kid grow up? 
 

Anyway, we recently (finally!) had our backyard landscaped. This was NOT a DIY project in the slightest. We hired professionals and boy, I'm so glad we did! There is no way we could have done this project ourselves. Landscaping is entirely outside of my wheelhouse. Like, not even in the same universe as my wheelhouse.

As you can see, we needed EVERYTHING done. We hired TurfWorks out of Vacaville, Ca to do the whole kit and kaboodle. They did an amazing job. I was so pleased with the whole experience. They were very professional and made the experience stress-free. The scope of the project included:

• 20 ft x 20 ft dark grey stained concrete patio (salt finish)
• Sod
• Retaining wall
• Sod, trees, and general shubbery
• Sprinklers, drip, and irrigation 
• Concrete path to side yard
• Concrete on garage side of house, and driveway extended
• Dog run

Eventually, we'll add a pergola or some sort of shade structure on the patio. Oh, and patio furniture. Details, ya know. 

This is Aybee's doggy area. The plan is to add a gate and a shade structure for her.

We still have a little work to do to finish the space, but the foundation is done -- and I couldn't be happier! Cheers, y'all!
